Sunday Funnies 140330

The Sunday Funnies word of the week is hypocrisy:
hy-po-cri-sy |hiˈpäkrisē|noun ( pl. -sies)the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform; pretense.ORIGIN Middle English : from Old French ypocrisie, via ecclesiastical Latin, from Greek hupokrisis ‘acting of a theatrical part,’ from hupokrinesthai ‘play a part, pretend,’ from hupo ‘under’ krinein ‘decide, judge.’

2. Better put another Exxon the map!

Two days before the 25th anniversary of the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska, another spill.
Meanwhile, Exxon, is claiming that Prince William Sound has made a full recovery. Such is not the case, however. Oil still clings to the beaches according to a National Geographic article and many other sources not economically tied to the oil industry.

3. Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?

Aren't the Obamacere fear-mongers the same folks who keep telling us that America is the greatest country on earth and that we can accomplish anything if we put our mind to it?
Aren't they the same folks who opposed Social Security, Medicare, the Nineteenth Amendment, The Civil Rights Act of 1964, and any other law that threatened to expand liberty and justice beyond the purview of the wealthy and/or well-connected?
Aren't they the same folks who claim to follow the teachings of a personal savior who said,  "A new command I give you: Love one another, As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another"?
